I'm ready to try the Megaformer! Should I do a private class first?
We do not require you to start with private sessions -- all classes are designed to work in a group setting. Because clients have their own machine, you can modify each exercise to suit your current fitness level. Most new students do fine stepping into our group classes.
However, if you have back pain, painful joints or another medical condition, it is recommended to take a private session first to assess your fitness level and limitations. If you are concerned, just let us know and we will be glad to take care of you.
We also offer 30 minute intro privates to get familiar with the Megaformer and Lagree Fitness!
Ok, I signed up for my first class. When should I arrive to the studio for my first time?
Please give yourself plenty of time to locate our studio and to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to class start. If you arrive less than 10 minutes before class starts we will kindly ask, for your safety, that we reschedule you for another class time.
And please remember to watch the Anatomy of a Megaformer M3 video before coming in for your first class. You will be required to sign a waiver stating you have watched this video.
What should I bring (or not bring) to class?
• Come with a positive attitude, you may bring your stress but plan on leaving it behind after class!
• Wear comfortable clothing that you can move in and your body can breathe. Preferably not to loose or baggy so instructors are able to see your alignment and form.
• Grip socks are required and available for purchase at the studio.
• There is a water cooler; however some students prefer to bring their own.
• This workout will make you sweat, so bring a hand towel.
• Please do not bring... Jewelry, strong perfume, lotions or oils and silence your cell phones. Thank you!
How many calories will I burn with one session?
You will burn 500-700 calories during class. Since it's a slow burn workout, the body will continue to burn calories for a few hours after!
How often should I practice on the Megaformer?
The workout is designed to work your body to muscle fatigue at which point you will need to rest. Depending on your own personal fitness level and the intensity of your workout, you will need more or less time to recover. We recommend three times a week to allow your body proper recovery time, but some clients love the workout so much that they come in 4 - 5 times a week! The key is to listen to your body and to find a routine that works best for you.
How do I schedule sessions?
We have a user friendly and secure software system to assist you in reserving a session. Just click on the studio you want to book at: Palm Beach Gardens, Wellington, or Boca Raton. It is the easiest, fastest, and most accurate way to book classes. Simply create a user name and password, and use it to schedule, purchase and track your visit history. It is always best to reserve your session online to guarantee you have a Megaformer available.
The class I want is full. Should I get on the wait list?
We definitely recommend doing so! Not only will you have better luck getting into a class, it also helps us know where we need to add classes. When a class reads "12 Reserved, 0 Open" add yourself to the list by clicking "Sign Up Now!" it will ask you if you want to join the waitlist and tell you which number you are on the waitlist.
If someone cancels BEFORE the 12 hour cancellation time, the system will automatically put you into the class and send you an email if you have opted into email messages.. You are responsible for checking your profile 12 hours before the scheduled class ("view my account"). If you see the class on your schedule it means you are IN, even if it says 'unconfirmed' you are IN. This means that if you made another back up reservation, you must cancel it ASAP so that you do not get into multiple classes on the same day.
We do not recommend putting yourself on multiple waitlists in one day as it can become confusing to manage. If you do put yourself on multiple waitlists for one day, it is your responsibility to keep track of what class you get into. You can get put into multiple classes in one day if you do not cancel classes or waitlist requests. As soon as you get in one class you should remove yourself from the other waitlists so you are not holding spots from other clients and in turn potentially getting charged for multiple classes (or no shows). To remove yourself from a waitlist log into your profile, go to 'my schedule', click on “waitlist” in the upper right hand corner of your schedule, simply hit cancel on the classes you no longer want to be waitlisted for and you are good to go.
If you need to cancel a class once you get in off the waitlist, log into your profile, go to 'my schedule' and the class will show up, simply hit cancel and you are good to go. Rule of thumb, if it comes up on your schedule, then you are IN and therefore subject to the same cancellation policy as a regularly scheduled class.
Once we are within 12 hours of the start of a class the waitlist locks and will not automatically add you into the class, if someone late cancels and a spot opens up the system will not automatically put you in the class. You have to sign in and check the system and add yourself if a spot becomes available. The system will never put you less than 12 hours prior to the start of the class that way you don’t lose any classes or incur a charge.
Will my spot be given away if I'm late to a class?
Yes. We ask that you arrive on time in an effort to respect other clients. Often times, clients will drop in to see if someone doesn’t show allowing them a space in the class. If you do not arrive by the time class starts, your space may be given to someone who is waiting. Be sure to sign in to class so we know you were present!
What happens if I miss a class? Will I be charged?
Yes, even if it's your first time. We require a 12-hour cancellation.
If you cancel a reservation within the 12-1 hours before a class:
• Regular session members will lose that session.
• Monthly members will be charged a $20 fee to the credit card on file.
If you cancel a reservation within 1 hour before a class or you do not show up:
• Regular session members will lose that session.
• Monthly members will be charged a no-show fee of $25 fee to the credit card on file.
If a valid credit card is not on file, the account is subject to immediate termination.
Are my purchases refundable or transferable?
Sorry, but all purchases are final, and are not transferable. Some of our memberships require signing a contract for auto-payments. Please make sure that you look these over carefully and fully understand the rules before signing them.
May I bring my children to class?
Honestly, we would love to meet your adorable children, but due to safety and insurance concerns we cannot allow children to stay in the studio while class is in session. It is not safe to have little hands near the machines or to have other clients distracted while they are in moves that require concentration and balance. Same rule applies for your furry friends too.
I am a member at one of your studios but I would like to take a class at another studio. How does that work?
If you have a monthly unlimited at any of our studios you are welcome to take a class at another studio for only $20! Just send us an email or give us a call if you'd like to book a class at another studio
Is there an age requirement to take a class?
Yes, due to insurance reasons you must be at least 14 years old to participate in a class. If you are between 14-18 years old a parent or legal guardian will need to accompany you to your first class to sign a liability waiver for you.
